Belvedere Arts is a unique creative space located in the beautiful mountain town of Pagosa Springs in Southwestern Colorado. We are dedicated to providing a supportive, creative space for people of all ages to experience the visual arts in our small mountain community. We proudly present several fine art shows annually, each featuring the works of one, or more very talented local artist(s). Pagosa is a unique place, with many interesting creative folks tucked away in the hills where they quietly make their work in relative isolation. Our goal is to bring their arts out of the studios and into the spotlight for visitors to see and enjoy. Artists and artisans alike are welcome to show their works at Belvedere. We go out into the community and visit the creatives in their own studios and we learn their stories and work practices. Then we invite them to bring their creations into our Gallery where they can be seen by folks who appreciate the uniqueness, devotion and skill so apparent in their arts and crafts work. Through this endeavor, artists meet one another in a community setting, communicate, make friendships, network, and learn from one another. In our giftshop space, we offer unique and colorful creations by our local makers for sale in our gift-shop. In addition to showing the works of locals artists, Belvedere also provides quality arts education in our well appointed studio/workshop. Our classes and workshops range from 6-8 week in-depth sessions in drawing and painting, clay hand-building and throwing on the potters wheel to fun 1-day experiences in “clay-play” such as “paint your own pottery” and “Throw your own pot on the potter’s wheel” experiences for locals and out of town visitors.

Many words describe the process…

From that moment in time, through the planning, execution and installation of our fireplace surround, Susan and Brianna were sensitive to our original intent. The inspiration and development of the idea was the smallest part of this successful project;… Read more “Many words describe the process…”
